WritBlitz is a Pretoria-based language practice service provider. We provide editing, proofreading, and writing development/coaching services. No written document is too large or too small for our team of passionate language professionals.
Proofreading and editing are two different parts of the same process. Although both involve close reading and revision, these services use different techniques for different stages in the production of high quality written documents.
In short: editing comes first, and proofreading last.
Editing is a language service tool for working with documents in their first draft or version. Editing entails a macro or “big picture” view of a draft document, which can take place on several levels.
Copy-editing takes the raw written material (the “copy”) and prepares it for publication. The editing process ensures that whatever appears in public is accurate, clear, fit for purpose and error-free.
Proofreading is the final stage of the editing process. After written material has been copy-edited, it can be sent for publication. A publication designer or typesetter prints or displays the “proof”, meaning the final version of the document as proof that it is ready for publication.
Proofreading is the final quality control process. A proofreader checks for any remaining errors in writing, layout, and formatting.
Our mission is to take the sting out of your writing woes. We can help you through the writing process through coaching sessions, workshops, and special retreats.
